Artists will embark on an artistic journey that will transport them across the diverse continents of our planet. Join us for an exciting camp designed for artists of all levels. Kids will learn how to draw and paint animals from around the world and dive into the hands-on world of sculpture using clay and plaster.
Artists will complete the same projects as the morning camp but in a shorter time frame.
Artists spend the week learning about the fascinating world of one of the most captivating civilizations in history. Artists will embark on a creative journey as they explore the rich culture and artistry of Ancient Egypt. Kids will sculpt King Tut’s funeral mask, make a clay hippo, paint a portrait of Cleopatra, and create a diorama complete with pyramids and the Nile.
The Greeks had numerous gods, and many stories and myths surrounded them. Greek Mythology consists of stories and tales about the Greek gods, goddesses, and heroes. Kids spend the week learning about the Olympian Gods and creating a replica of Poseidon’s trident, plastering a mask resembling Medusa, drawing scenes from the Odyssey, making an olive wreath crown, and painting Mount Olympus.
The world of Fairies is explored using paint, pencil, clay, and plaster. Kids will sculpt unicorns and dragons, learn to draw a fairy, paint a fairy village, and create their fairy world diorama.
We spend the week exploring the world of art inspired by the incredible stories of the Rebel Girls books. Artists will create a collage of images and words to create a powerful visual narrative. We will create our own "Rebel Girls" self-portrait and study the lives of Frida Kahlo, Aisholpan — champion teenage eagle huntress — Amelia Earhart, Cleopatra, and more.
Why do kids love superheroes? Is it because kids fantasize about having powers that make them more extraordinary than they are, or because kids want to see justice in an unjust world? In this camp, kids will learn about what a superhero is, the history of the genre, supervillains, and why we love superheroes so much. Projects will be crafty, including Captain America or Wonder Woman Shields sculptures.
The United States has 63 national parks, each with its unique charm and story. Throughout history, artists have been drawn to national parks. They come here to find inspiration and to paint, draw, photograph, and create art that reflects the beauty of nature. Using paint, clay, plaster, and oil pastels, kids learn about four different National Parks and the artists that they inspired.
Welcome aboard the “Jolly Roger”, where we set sail for a week of high-seas adventure and discovery in the realm of Pirates and their world. We study how ships were built and create a pirate ship masterpiece. Kids will sculpt a parrot to prop on our shoulders, paint a picture of a pirate ship, and learn about all the different Pirates, such as Captain Cook, Black Beard, Captain Kidd, and the fierce female pirates who ruled the waves, Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
Join us for a week of adventure with Jack and Annie. We follow them on their adventures from Dinosaurs, England in the Middle Ages, Mummies, Pirates, and more. Drawings, paintings, sculptures, and dioramas will be based on this adventure series.
Artists will complete the same projects as the morning camp but in a shorter time frame.
We do it all! Clay, plaster, paint drawing, and painting. Create a masterpiece and choose an animal to sculpt. We use any materials left over from other camps and have a BLAST! Have you enrolled in Last Blast in previous years? Don't worry if you have done this camp in previous years. We have all new projects to keep your artist happy!
