Ancient Egypt (ages 6-12)

Artists spend the week learning about the fascinating world of one of the most captivating civilizations in history. Artists will embark on a creative journey as they explore the rich culture and artistry of Ancient Egypt. Kids will sculpt King Tut’s funeral mask, make a clay hippo, paint a portrait of Cleopatra, and create a diorama complete with pyramids and the Nile.

Greek Gods and Mythology (ages 6-12)

The Greeks had numerous gods, and many stories and myths surrounded them. Greek Mythology consists of stories and tales about the Greek gods, goddesses, and heroes. Kids spend the week learning about the Olympian Gods and creating a replica of Poseidon’s trident, plastering a mask resembling Medusa, drawing scenes from the Odyssey, making an olive wreath crown, and painting Mount Olympus.

Rebel Girls (ages 6-12)

We spend the week exploring the world of art inspired by the incredible stories of the Rebel Girls books. Artists will create a collage of images and words to create a powerful visual narrative. We will create our own "Rebel Girls" self-portrait and study the lives of Frida Kahlo, Aisholpan — champion teenage eagle huntress — Amelia Earhart, Cleopatra, and more.

Superheroes (ages 6-12)

Why do kids love superheroes? Is it because kids fantasize about having powers that make them more extraordinary than they are, or because kids want to see justice in an unjust world? In this camp, kids will learn about what a superhero is, the history of the genre, supervillains, and why we love superheroes so much. Projects will be crafty, including Captain America or Wonder Woman Shields sculptures.

Art Appreciation of National Parks (ages 6-12)

The United States has 63 national parks, each with its unique charm and story. Throughout history, artists have been drawn to national parks. They come here to find inspiration and to paint, draw, photograph, and create art that reflects the beauty of nature. Using paint, clay, plaster, and oil pastels, kids learn about four different National Parks and the artists that they inspired.

Pirates (ages 5.5-12)

Welcome aboard the “Jolly Roger”, where we set sail for a week of high-seas adventure and discovery in the realm of Pirates and their world. We study how ships were built and create a pirate ship masterpiece. Kids will sculpt a parrot to prop on our shoulders, paint a picture of a pirate ship, and learn about all the different Pirates, such as Captain Cook, Black Beard, Captain Kidd, and the fierce female pirates who ruled the waves, Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
