"I went to a different art school and I had to do everything
their way. Here, I can learn about a project. . .
do it with my own imagination."

Impressionism changed the way we look at and produce art. In these workshops, students are introduced to some of the most well-known Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, including Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, and Henri Matisse.

  • Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh — Monday, November 25  (FULL)
  • Vincent Van Gogh is considered a post-impressionist artist, whereas Claude Monet is one of the founding members of the Impressionism movement. Monet used more realistic color tones in his works, while Vincent Van Gogh is better known for making bold and striking color choices. Artists will learn to paint in the style of these two popular Impressionists.
  • Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso — Tuesday, November 26  (FULL)
  • Kids use watercolor, acrylic paint, and scissors to create art based on the works of two of our favorite Post-Impressionists: Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Matisse was well known for his drawings, nature paintings, and vibrant collages. His friend and rival was Pablo Picasso, who based his work on imagination. We examine their work and create masterpieces of our own.
  • All Things Thanksgiving — Wednesday, November 27  (FULL)
  • This is one of our most popular workshops of the year. While you are busy preparing for the big day, kids will create Thanksgiving masterpieces to share with family and friends.

  • A Morning With Gnomes — Monday, December 23
  • Gnomes symbolize the spirit of Christmas—love, kindness, and generosity. They represent the joy and wonder of the holiday season and are often seen as symbols of good luck and prosperity.
  • Gnomes rarely reveal themselves to humans except if they are hardworking or worthy. Artists will spend the morning hard at work making a diorama of a Gnome habitat, learn to draw a Gnome, and paint a winter Gnome landscape. Surely, your hardworking artist will be worthy of a visit from a Gnome.
  • Harry Potter’s First Christmas at Hogwarts — Tuesday, December 24
  • “Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow.”
  • So begins Chapter Twelve of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and the heartwarming story of Harry Potter’s first Christmas at Hogwarts. Students will paint a Hogwarts snowscape, create floating Harry Potter-themed ornaments, and more.
